New piece - 'A Story To Tell'

I've just finished my first level 1.5 piece - a commissioned work for the Matthew Pearce Public School Intermediate Band. 'A Story To Tell' is a bit like a theme and variations. Contrasting sections that use the same melody 'tell the story'. I'm looking forward to hearing some feedback after the band spends a few weeks learning it.

NSW State Band Championships 2018

Thank you BandNSW for choosing 'Schaefer's Old Time Dances' for the Junior C Grade list of test pieces for the 2018 NSW State Band Championships! A new feature this year is having a list of four test pieces to choose from for each grade.

BMS and ABODA Queensland Band Reading Day

It was great to travel to Brisbane for the Brass Music Specialists and ABODA Queensland Reading Day on Sunday the 18th of Feb. The band played 'Blytheswood Overture' and 'Crestwood March' very well! Was fantastic to chat with other local publishers. I'm looking forward to returning to Queensland for the ANBOC conference in early October.

New Work for 2018!

I'm very fortunate to be asked to write a piece for Matthew Pearce Public School! They have asked for a level 1.5 piece with some contrasting sections to suit their Intermediate Band. It's coming together nicely with melodic parts for all sections of the band. This will be my first level 1.5 piece and the second piece I've written for the Matthew Pearce Public School Band program!
